The garden group's tour of my yard was this evening. Everyone loved the irises. It was a HUGE hit!!! Some people had a lot of questions. Others did not. They loved the Siberians as well. There are only a handful of those here. Someone discovered the trillium and Jack In The Pulpit. There were comments about all of my spider plants, which are 15 or so, all hanging from the sugar maples. They had no problem with helping themselves to the drinks and cookies. They were completely at home in my yard and totally enjoyed themselves amidst my flowers. Everyone was very friendly. No one sat in any of the chairs I had set out in the yard. I've only been to one meeting with this group so was immediately confronted with a lot of very nice friendly strangers. It was fun. I was thrilled by their instant amazement and joy over the irises. As things were drawing to a close, I mentioned that later in the summer there would be a dig. They were eagerly receptive to the idea of returning for some irises. Nice!
I can relax now. All of the chores which have not been completed, can now happen in my own time and as I choose. This feels incredibly good.

What a lovely experience you and your hard work provided for nice people already interested in gardening. They would not only love the colour but all the time and work involved. Cookies are always good! I find gardeners are usually interested in learning and sharing. Now put your feet up and enjoy your babies!

Beautiful!! Glad you had such a nice time. I know it's a lot of work, but it definitely brings you happiness, and that makes it all worthwhile.

A couple of chorus friends showed up this evening. The first was a partner soprano. We've sung side by side many times. We had a nice visit. Then, right after she left, out of the blue, another chorus friend showed up. All of a sudden he was standing in my driveway. His wife was in the car. She has trouble getting around so he pulled the car well into the driveway. This was their first time here which means they were filled with delightful pleasure over the sight of such beautiful blossoms in all colors. We had a lovely visit. First time visits are fun for me because people are surprised/shocked over the beauty which can be a bit stunning. There are so many irises.
More people are coming tomorrow.
