Haven't said anything yet because I am completely buried. Part of this is because I seeded some lawn areas that were torn up last year due to the well leak repairs and also because a nicer lawn is a nicer backdrop for blooming irises. Now, all this baby grass MUST be watered daily. It has to be done by hand. I have tried sprinklers but they put too much water on the iris beds. It is a chunk of time that I can't use for other things such as weeding and mulching. Can't wait for it to grow up! Why does this matter so much? A garden club will be touring here this season. Plus there's a possibility of someone from my iris club showing up for a visit. The irises are oblivious to all of this. Four of the tall beardeds were open yesterday. A 5th, Loop de Loop, opened this morning. Two intermediates (shorter + smaller) are happening. Blue Eyed Blonde is in the "new" front beds and is putting on a lovely show. (The other is Maui Moonlight which was moved last year but is blooming anyway) And btw, the established lawn in the front yard was fertilized with some 5-10-5. It is green, green, green and growing like mad, mad, mad. Now I have to stop and cut it every time I turn around. Will get some pictures of the 'new' beds when they are in bloom and post something here for you with a reminder of what they looked like 2 years ago. ..... My front yard is really shaping up into something special and nice. ... There's not enough of me to go around.

I see it's high season at your house! I know you'll be keeping busy with visitors for a while. I look forward to the pictures! Any chance we can get a wide angle panoramic of your yard?

Not sure how the positioning for the iris pics will be. The arrangement of the beds in the front yard is new. It's going to depend on what ever works best.

Your yard always sounds spectacular but even more so with the changes you've made. What a pain to have to water the new grass by hand! My small patch of irises just finished blooming but they looked really nice this year. As I drive around the neighborhood, I'm always on the lookout for irises and always think of you! I too am looking forward to your pictures!
