Hi, Thank you for your loving beautiful thoughts and wishes.
We had a birthday party last Sunday. I say 'we' because it was my brother's birthday this month as well and his was an '0' marker. The kids made this happen. It was at a pizza place and we had a great time. Chris + Tom went out of their way for this. They know I love a veggie pizza so this was one of the pizzas we had. They know I love peppermint ice cream and they brought some from a place that makes their own. It was the best peppermint ice cream I've ever had. PLUS...quite some time ago, I had emailed a photo of a cake decorator's cake that was completely covered in flowers. It is a flower gardener's dream cake. I meant it in fun. Possibility wise, it certainly didn't seem believable to me. Well, they took a printed picture to a place here and said this is what we want. On Sunday, they set a cake in front of me that was covered in edible flowers. Everybody was taking pictures of this cake! (Someone still needs to send me a photo.) I didn't want it cut, but cut it we did. There wasn't much of it left. There was a cake for my brother too. He gardens as well and has a few gnome miniatures in his herb bed. His was a flat green (like grass) cake decorated with some miniatures for his garden. I have to say, I came away from this gathering feeling so much love. This is going to stay with me for a long, long time.

Happy Birthday, Ruff! That sounds like a wonderful party. Don't you just love it when people remember the little things? I hope you'll share the picture of your cake here when you get it -- I want to see!!
Any more celebrations forthcoming? You know my approach to birthdays...

Here is what else happened:
When I stepped outside this morning to begin the day, this is what greeted me. There were over 70 little individual impatiens plants all around the perimeter of my driveway. It was just the biggest smile possible. Literally, I just stood there and smiled and smiled and smiled. It had to be Wendy who did this..........Last night, between 10:00 + 11:00 PM, both she and Mallarie drove here, parked the car further down the road, sneaked into my driveway and left over 70 of these l little individual plants. My office light was on. They knew I was up but also, for some reason, I went to the garage, turned on the light there and then turned it off again. There's a spare fridge in the garage. Sometimes I need something from that. And they were right outside the whole time!!!! .................... They need to be planted somewhere PDQ.
PS....That's my pile of mulch in the lower right corner. There's still a lot of it left.

You are right Amanda. Birthday's should be celebrated as much as possible. My family has really outdone itself this year. They have managed to fill me right up to the top with a whole lot of everything special, loving and good. All is very well just as it is right now.

A very Happy Belated Birthday from me as well! Your cake was just gorgeous! No wonder you didn't want to cut it. Your birthday celebrations sound like so much fun and how sweet of them for all the special things that they did. What a surprise to wake up and find all the impatiens edging your driveway like that! They will continue to make you smile all summer long!

Happy birthday, Ruffles! What a great cake and thoughtful present from your daughter and grand daughter! I won't say "belated" because I'm following the Amanda playbook for birthday rules. :-)

Hi again Denise. It's great to see you here!
Yeah KK. A birthday wish is never belated.
The best thing about birthday threads is that they bring people out of the woodwork. It's nice. We should have birthdays all of the time.
