I don't go to very many movies since I don't like the shoot 'em ups, super heroes or fantasy, but went with a friend today to see Brooklyn. It was a lovely, gentle, thought provoking movie. I won't spoil the story but the acting is wonderful and the Irish scenery is breathtaking. Definitely a two thumbs up!

That's what's playing in Lexington Center right now and I know nothing about it. Can you give a thumbnail synopsis of the story?

it is the story of an Irish girl who immigrates to Brooklyn in the early 1950's, more of a character study than a drama. KK, when I made my original post, I was thinking about you and wasn't sure if you'd like it. It's certainly not Downtown Abby and the main character is quite likeable. If you decide to go, I'll be interested to hear your thoughts.

I usually love all things from the British Isles, DA is an anomaly.

Hadn't heard of this movie until you mentioned it so I found a trailer on line. This looks like a story I can enjoy. I'm a sucker for the Irish accent.

I know I've heard good things about it. I might look for it in Redbox when it comes to DVD.
