The windows are open. It is the start of a warm humid summer day. The smell of the fresh air is positively delicious! The humidity coupled with the flavors of all things green and growing is filled with soothing goodness. This is an amazing contrast to the biting crispness of winter's zeros. Only the sound of an ever so gentle breeze within the leaves can be heard.

That sounds lovely except that I would never open my windows to a humid summer day! Of course, I wouldn't call our summer days "warm," exactly. More like hellfire, if hellfire could be wet and sticky. But I am glad you are enjoying it!

The heat here is different than in the south. Southern heat is cooking hot by 10:00AM. It's still cooking at 5:00PM plus the heat continues into the evening. It takes a while for the heat to cook here. The temp will max in the early afternoon with the risen sun. As soon as the sun begins to drop, so does the temp. There's nothing like a summer evening here. It's a relaxing, easy refreshing kind of good. A summer night is more than wonderful. When visiting in the south, what I miss are the evenings and nights full of incredible fresh wonderful air. Everyone in the south has their house closed up with the AC running. My brother in NC has a porch. It is surrounded by trees. They love it. We spent a lot of time out there. I loved it too.

We're definitely all well done by the time September comes along! Fall is my favorite time of year in the South. That's when we have those glorious evenings when you can be outside without immediately sweating!
