This is Mt. Herman Treasure which is a very photogenic day lily. It also has a great location because at the end of the day the sun moves around to the other side of the property and side lights it which is what has happened in this photo. Also, this day lily has 4 sets of petals. The normal is 3. It is still nicely formed and has more ruffle for our pleasure!!!

Yes...........I LOVE ruffles no matter if they come in flowers, or chips, or cats. *grin* Originally I had a kitten. She was a long haired, salt + pepper tortie. My son remarked that she looked ruffled, hence she was named Ruffles. I took her name for my on-line ID.
The day lily row has room for about nine more day lilies. The trick will be to find something different from what is there already. There's one day lily which hardly blooms, is the same exact color of another, but has a generous amount of green bushy leaf to it. Tsk! Tsk! It will be finding a different location some day. It is so nice to be able to share my day lily row with you. It has grown into something that I really love. Last night I was wandering around soaking in their beauty while feeling thankful for life itself.

You might want to check out the catalogue of a local daylily grower. Pam is now an international expert on hybridizing day lilies www.eriksonsdaylilygardens.com/eriksonsdaylilygardens.com/Daylilies.html I don't know if she ships to the U.S. but at least you might get some ideas for new varieties. I'm not sure if I've added the website properly, but it is Eriksons Daylilies in Langley, BC

Her catalogue is verbal descriptions only. There's a handful of images on the site and that's all.
