This is my day lily bed. I'll be back later with a couple of individual shots.

Thanks!!!! They are all blooming like mad today and had me smiling from ear to ear as I visited them for the first time this morning. The Queen Anne's Lace snuck into the fertile soil in the bulb cage at the end and is gloriously huge! I am loving it.

Queen Anne's Lace is having banner year, along with all perennials and bulbs. I think the harsh winter was good for plants, for whatever reason.

BeAutiful display, Ruffy! All your hard work has paid off and will continue for years to come.
I'm envying your green grass. We've had virtually no rain since mid-April and are under severe watering restriction. A green lawn gets you water shamed! We can still hand water flowers & veggie gardens, but if we don't get rain soon, that may be restricted too.
Dean' s area up the coast had a forest fire right across the inlet from him and was very frightening. The smoke was so bad that they couldn't se the house next door &'there was so much ash on the deck that it looked like it had snowed.
There have been a number of small fires from idiots throwing cigarette butts out car windows and there is talk of raising fines to $1000 or impounding cars if you're caught doing it.

Wow! I had no idea that the drought was so far north. I am so sorry.
Your compliment on my lawn is worth 20 gold stars!!!!! All of my energy is put into the flowers which means I don't really have much for a lawn. It is loaded with weeds, which are also green. It's to the point where in the spring I don't like to start mowing because all of the violets are blooming. *grin*
We all have wells here. Mine is artesian, and is hundreds of feet deep. It has never gone dry.
How awful for Dean!!!! All that smoke in Dean's area must have been ghastly. I would have had to evacuate. Smoke gives me asthma. How in the world did they ever manage with that? Why people think it is all right to toss/trash their cigarette butts anywhere they please totally escapes me! That is so disgusting. You'd think that in a drought situation they'd at least be more conscientious. Geese!!!
