How is all this rain treating you? Golly, it has just poured and poured here! And this is after weeks of nothing. My yard was drying up in September! Now there is so much water. Is anyone having flooding issues?
KK........How is it for you?
One of the weather people said this is a result of the La Nina effect. I don't want to hear this. It could mean there is a challenging winter ahead. ..... Eyes closed! Ears blocked! La! La! La! La!

Eastern MA missed the bulk of the rain; the edge seemed to just skim 128 and I live just inside. I was wondering where the torrential rains were, so I checked on weather.com. I thought of you Ruff, you must have gotten hammered! We had a brief bit of very heavy wind and one big downpour, but neither lasted very long. It's raining, but not the tropical downpour that I think you got.

Glad you are ok. I was having visions of you bailing out your cellar.
There was a plastic container out on my deck. It now has 5 inches of water in it. Normally, we don't get that much in a month! For the past two days we've been bombarded with monsoon episodes with less, but constant rain or drizzle in between.
The entry for my well line into the cellar let in a very slight amount of moisture this time. I think it needs to be resealed.

We're getting a slug of rain in eastern MA right now, but it doesn't look too huge. Looking forward to cooler, drier, fall-like temps this weekend!

Tony, when did you move? You used to live in the Village, correct? Are you now a country boy?! ;D

It looks brutal from the weather maps but you can't always tell by that. We were supposed to get 2 days of hammering but only got one severe day with tornado watches and warnings and 12 inches of rain in a matter of hours. Glad it looks like the group as a whole was spared major stuff

Nah, we're used to hard rains down here... that was the day I mentioned getting soaked from the car to the house- had to wear a different pair of shoes to work the next day, LOL. It sure was coming down!! But luckily the rains went off shore the following day so our streets didn't flood.

Twelve inches! That was my thought too! We get rain, but that's incredible. I'm glad you are all fine. Wet is one thing, but flooding is another.
So are the crocodiles beyond the fence happy now, light?

Alligators, Meggie...alligators And yes, they croak hapily as they wander back and forth. As long as they stay back there, I'll remain happy too We had been so dry this summer that the ground just sucked those 12 inches up like it was nothing. Didn't even see so much as a rain puddle the next morning.

All is well here as well. We got about six inches or so, which we desperately needed. My beloved Wilmington got drenched with 20 inches! There was flooding down there all over the place, but I think they handled it pretty well.

You didn't mention any alligators Amanda...aligators. Should we be mentioning alligators?

I shudder to think how many alligators from Greenfield Lake and the Orton Plantation might have swam out of their banks in the deluge and started wandering around Wilmington. EEEEK!
