How much of an issue is the death of the Turk? I am wondering if Thomas poisoned him but there was nothing to indicate that. There is poison in the house. There'd be no way of knowing and they've said the dr. thought it was a heart attack. Maybe I am way off the mark. I wouldn't trust Thomas any further than I could pitch my car. ........... I don't want any spoilers though.
It's beginning to look as if Matthew Crawley likes Lady Mary. It's subtle for now.

I detest Thomas. Really do. He's just such a dirty dealer. And mean!

O'Brien is no sweetheart either.
You tease with your answers. Now I can hardly wait to see the next episode. There aren't very many shows. This is going to come to an abrupt end and then we have to wait until January?!!!!!

I think Season 1 was only 4 episodes and that was supposed to be it, but the public loved it so they continued the story. Season 2 is 7 episodes (I think) that was on this year but we have to wait until 2013 for Season 3. Season 2 is out on DVD. Check with your library or come to my house. I have both seasons still on my PVR and I feel a Downton Abbey Film Festival coming on.

Disc 2 of "The Original UK Edition" has Part Three, Part Four and Part Five.
Disc 3 has Part Six and Part Seven
Except for something that says there is about 6 hours of viewing, there is nothing that says how many episodes there are. It is only in the menu on the discs themselves.
Season 2, which is not yet opened, says there are about 9 hours of viewing.
I have the Dallas set. The DVD case covers contain a list of each of the episodes on that disc, their number, title and a very brief blurb about each one. It's very handy.

I think all the UK 'parts' were an hour long whereas here they were two hours so that may explain the difference. I know that one of the Season 2 episodes was shown as a one hour Christmas special in the UK, but just part of a regular Masterpiece Theatre here.
How far are you now? It's such a glorious production that you have to savour every episode and not hurry through it. We really missed it when Season 2 was finished and were dying to know what happened next.

I've seen Season one, part three. This was the hunt in which Lady Mary was fascinated with the Turk who later came into her room at night and then died in her bed. Mrs Hughes learned of Bate's leg brace which was severely hurting his leg and they went together for him to throw it into the pond. O'Brien learned of Gwen's typewriter and brought it to the kitchen where, before the whole group of servants, Gwen was embarrassed and shamed into confessing her desire to become a secretary.
The whole event of Lady Mary, her mother and Anna moving the Turk's body back to his own bed reminded me of a similar event when Reva, with someone, was also moving the body of 'Mr. Woody'. It was a problem because he had acquired rigormortis.
